French born Maxime Pasquier and East Coast native Andrew Potter met djing together at a loft party in Brooklyn and hit it off. Over the next few years, the two shared apartments, collected various analog synths and drum machines, and threw parties around NYC with some memorable nights at 205 Club on the Lower East Side and the infamous Galaxie in Brooklyn.

During those years, the studio-trained Pasquier began working on his production skills, remixing acts like Soulwax, Tiefschwarz, Who Made Who and The Rapture under the name Max Pask, while Andrew gave birth to the visual identity of the emerging Throne of Blood record label (he has since art directed every release on the label).

Populette became the logical evolutionary step for the two friends, after over a decade involved in nightlife and music. Tired of being mere humans, Pasquier and Potter wanted to be something more, so they started Populette. In just over a year, they have released two singles and completed a handful of killer remixes.
